The Peninsula Compost Group, LLC, strives to not only bring an environmentally friendly and useful service to the communities where its facilities are located but to also maintain a strong working relationship with those communities by encouraging their economic development. To that end, Peninsula is often willing to negotiate community benefit agreements with those communities, which can provide them with significant economic incentives. Some examples of the benefits that may be included in these agreements are:
- Provision of jobs at the facility to residents of the community
- Acceptance of a certain amount of “green/yard” waste from residents of the community free of charge
- Providing a certain amount of compost to residents of the community free of charge for their personal use
- Other site specific host benefits
